It is January and things are cold and slow and yes it is a good to return to the studio.  I am pleased to say I can now sit down and work on small projects.  I have many mugs, three yarn bowl kitties, three yarn bowl owls, two yarn bowl elephants and one llama (yarn bowl) in process.

A Small Herd

Hers was a quieter enthusiasm--one that I felt more of a connection to.  She told us her focus in this workshop was on dinner ware--something related to food. Here is an image of one of my corn kernel ash glazed teapots that came from that firing. It is a small(ish) tee pot as it holds just over 8 ounces.  More pots and pictures later. Sumo then did a somersault on the wheel and bounced to the floor (which was padded) landing on his feet--unharmed! It began at 930 am and went until 6:30 pm.  The cone 10 was tip touching top and bottom shelf.  You just don't get much better than that.  Saturday noon was our date to open.  It's just like Christmas.I was excited as this kiln load was mainly full of my pots. I have plans for the studio today, which is a well insulated two car attached garage.  Even so the wind just blows down the corridor of Daniel Ct and pushes its way through the garage door.  The concrete also has a cold that sucks the warmth from any mammal.  My plans are to go there.
